52 degrees and sunny
Perfect.
@2 years ago with 1 noteMaybe you ran for a team. Maybe you know the fire-in-vein thrum of competition on the cross country course or the track or the road race. Maybe you've never competed a day in your life, but you're up at five every morning just like the rest of your mile-crunching brethren.
What's it matter?
You're a runner, dammit. You've known the blisters of new shoes; the loneliness of the trail; the broken-glass breathing on a cold day; that moment where you're aching, body and soul, but somehow everything just feels right and you know that you've got one more mile in you.
Fuck yeah.
It’s a hard thing, sometimes.
But you’re not alone.
Go out and collect your spoils.
@2 years agoChose that image over ‘breaking in a new pair of shoes’ or something. I mean, yeah, we’re runners and that’s pretty fucking awesome. But let’s not carried away here.
@2 years agoThere are few pains so great.
